George Lopez partners with local restaurant group to open craft brewery in Torrance
World class brewing equipment is arriving to set the stage for a new brewery opening in Torrance in the fall.
Comedian and actor George Lopez is partnering with South Bay restaurateur Michael Zislis for the new venture titled The Brews Hall at Del Amo.
The brewery and food hall, set to open Fall 2019, takes over a former CrossFit location at 21770 Del Amo Circle East, just east of Del Amo Fashion Center.
Zislis, his new Brewsmaster Justinian Caire, from Stone Brewing in San Diego, as well as Lopez will be on hand this week to welcome the new equipment.
The four vessel 20 BBL Brewhouse has been custom designed by Zislis and Caire for versatility in brewing any style of beer from pilsners to ales. It will house 17 fermenting vessels and 12 serving vessels plus the tap system.
In addition to a multi-concept food hall, the restaurant will be home to Buzzrock Brewing Company and Chingon Brewing.
The restaurants will include George Lopez’s Chingon Kitchen, Colin Cowherd’s Herd Burger, Chicken TWILI (The Way I like it) and Rock’N Fish Grill, a Manhattan Beach steak and fish house favorite. The property will also feature a full bar.
The project is commissioned by the Zislis brothers, Michael and David, and Dave Furano. It will be designed by Larry Drasin of Drasin Designs.
The Brews Hall will be part of the Zislis Group, with a portfolio includes Shade Hotels in Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach; Rock ’N Fish restaurants in Manhattan Beach and at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles; Rock & Brews restaurants (which currently has 18 locations in the United States and Mexico) and The Strand House in Manhattan Beach.
